This stunning ring is beautifully crafted from 18ct Gold and the finest natural gemstones, selected by us especially for this unique piece. The ring has been made by hand, using traditional tools and techniques in our workshop in Brighton. Our Goldsmith and designer Kerry Newman, inspired by the beautiful opal, sketched a design which she then created using age old traditional goldsmith skills to make this ‘one off’ ring.
The central Opal of 1.52ct is a water opal, so called because of its translucency and ‘jelly-like’ appearance. This water opal exhibits an array of glorious colours with an overall base colour of golden yellow with internal colours of bright turquoise and green, electric orange, violet, yellow and pink revealed as the gem is moved. The opal is rub-over set in 18ct Yellow Gold, with a halo of pave set Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds in 18ct White Gold, finished with a finely milled edge.
The head of the ring measures 14mm x 14mm and is supported by a decorative lattice collet below. The shoulders of the ring are also diamond set and the shank has a width of 2.5mm. The total diamond weight for the ring is 0.50ct.
The ring carries a full UK hallmark for 18ct Gold and weighs 6.3 grams.
